The trailer, which features English voice-acting, shows the Phantom Thieves from Persona 5 arriving in a new and mysterious world vaguely patterned after revolutionary France. They fight what look to be shadow-like enemies in stylized French uniforms and meet a new character who wields a revolutionary flag. This new character leads a faction called the "Rebel Corps", which fights against an oppressive monarch. Other environments shown include one that is based on Edo-period Japan.
The game's visual style uses "chibi" character sprites, similar to the style used for the Persona Q dungeon-crawler spin-offs. Snippets of gameplay are shown that reveal combat on a grid-based tactical map, featuring familiar Persona 5 skills. "All-Out Attacks" can be conducted by trapping enemies in a triangle pattern between three characters.
At the moment, Persona 5 Tactica is headed for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC, and will arrive on November 17, 2023. It'll also be playable on Xbox Game Pass. Atlus has not yet confirmed the game's other target platforms.
