Final Fantasy VII Rebirth lands on PlayStation 5 in early 2024, first full trailer shown
The ongoing 2023 Summer Game Fest hosted the most substantial look yet at Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake. The game is set to arrive in early 2024 for the PlayStation 5. The game will have two discs, a first for a PS5 game.
Check out the trailer below. Be advised: The scenes shown can be considered potential spoilers for developments in Final Fantasy VII Remake.
The trailer shows off scenes from Rebirth's interpretation of the events of Final Fantasy VII. The party of Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, Barret, and the now-playable Red XIII has left Midgar, with combat occurring on the open fields and wilderness outside the city. Yuffie is also confirmed to be part of the playable cast (she last appeared as a solo character in the "Episode Intermission" DLC story for FFVII Remake Intergrade). Locations like Cosmo Canyon, the Chocobo Ranch, and what looks to be Junon are seen in cutscenes and exploration, as well as Nibelheim in flashback.
In remarks delivered via a press release, Producer Yoshinori Kitase said:

We can’t wait to share more details later this year.”
