The Witcher 3 Bishoujo Geralt figure pre-orders open in Japan
Figure maker Kotobukiya has opened pre-orders in Japan for a new figure based on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The figure is patterned after the series protagonist, Geralt of Rivia. However, as it is a part of Kotobukiya's famed Bishoujo line, it's based on a gender-swapped version of Geralt, illustrated by artist Shunya Yamashita. The figure is available for pre-order in Japan, with an expected delivery window of February 2024. It costs about 22,000 Yen (about $156 USD).
The Bishoujo Geralt figure wears an outfit based on Geralt's default Kaer Morhen armor set, and stands 229mm tall (about 9 inches). The figure includes the character's signature twin swords - one made of steel and the other silver. The silver sword, specialized for injuring monsters, has detailed etchings on the handguard and blade. Bishoujo Geralt's pose also shows her using the Witcher sign of Igni, which produces a burst of magical fire. The figure poses atop a stand detailed to look like grass and soil for a more dynamic composition.

Named after the Japanese word for "beautiful girl", figures in Kotobukiya's Bishoujo line are based on Shunya Yamashita's illustrations of various characters from comics, anime, and games. Though most Bishoujo figures are based on female characters, a few feature bishoujo-style reinterpretations of classic male characters. These include Fatal Fury's Terry Bogard (as seen in the SNK Heroines game) and the Transformers' Optimus Prime and Megatron.
The Bishoujo Geralt of Rivia figure is available from Kotobukiya in Japan. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Developer CD Projekt Red announced that the game has sold over 50 million copies since its launch in 2015.
