Persona 2: Eternal Punishment Announced for PSP
The PSP may be on its way out, but notable releases are still making their way to the aging handheld. Atlus has announced Persona 2: Eternal Punishment has been announced for it.
Eternal Punishment is the sequel to Innocent Sin, the other game sharing the Persona 2 moniker; already available on the PSP in all regions. Unlike Innocent Sin, Eternal Punishment has already been translated for English speaking audiences back on the PS1. Of course that wouldn't rule out a worldwide release, but the state of the PSP outside Japan may. Whether Atlus will explore alternate venues such as PSN or Vita remains to be seen.
The game is an enhanced port. It will feature a new optional soundtrack, improved load times, optimized graphics, new scenarios from the original writer, and an animated opening from the iconic Japanese animation studio, Madhouse. These additions are sure to make the game a desirable choice for localization.
Persona 2: Eternal Punishment releases in Japan on May 17.
