Enotria: The Last Song technical showcase shows off the game's masks and environment
Developer Jyamma Games showed off a new "technical showcase" trailer for Enotria: The Last Song, its upcoming Souls-like action RPG. The game is being built in Unreal Engine 5, and the technical showcase trailer updates fans on the progress of the game, as well as highlighting the game's Italian-inspired aesthetic and environments.
Check it out below:
The Enotria: The Last Song technical showcase trailer is narrated by Stoyan Stoyanov, the Game Director. He details the way the game's graphics have been improved in the team's transition to Unreal Engine 5. In Enotria: The Last Song, players play as "The Maskless One", who must break the grip of the Canovaccio - an "eternal play" that locks the people of Enotria in an unending stasis of unchanged roles, enforced by magical masks. The Maskless One must defeat the Authors of the Canovaccio, change the world with Ardore, a magical power, and become "the mask of change."
In-game, players can equip the masks of fallen enemies, changing their "role" in the world and opening up new quests, opportunities for exploration, and gameplay mechanics. They can also instantly switch between multiple loadouts to switch up their combat style.
The world of Enotria is inspired by Mediterranean environments, particularly those seen and detailed in Italian history and folklore. Sunlit environs, elaborate masks and costumes, and grandiose architecture define the game's visual identity.
Enotria: The Last Song is in development for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and is set for release in 2024.
