Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn's new character Nazamil will not be playable
Bandai Namco published more information for Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn at their Tokyo Game Show 2023 live stream. The Tales Of series producer Yusuke Tomizawa delivered new details about the expansion, most of which featured the new character Nazamil.
The stream revealed that Atsumi Tanezaki will be the Japanese voice actress for Nazamil. However, Tomizawa announced at the Q&A segment that the new character will not become a playable character. That means the new story will still only have 6 main party members in total: Alphen, Shionne, Rinwell, Law, Dohalim, and Kisara.
The full translation of the stream's Q&A segment is available right below:
- Nazamil will not be available as a battle member, because she will appear as an enemy at one point in the story. When she is traveling with Alphen's group, she will appear in skits, event scenes, and camp scenes, and you can see her interacting with other party members.
- When Beyond the Dawn story begins, it will start with the optimal character stats. The team wants to give a level playing field to everyone regardless of whether they have cleared the base game at Lv100 or Lv60, or have not even cleared it yet.
- Players can start Beyond the Dawn right away without playing the base game first, but it is still recommended to play Tales of Arise first as Beyond the Dawn takes place 2 years later.
To add more to the playing order recommendation, Bandai Namco is also preparing bonuses based on the base game progression when the player boots up Beyond the Dawn:
- Start playing Beyond the Dawn - 1,000 SP, 60,000 Gald, Max CP +30, Consumable items
- Have any base Tales of Arise save data - 500 SP, 10,000 Gald, Max CP +10
- Have a base Tales of Arise clear data (simply finish the story) - 800 SP, 20,000 Gald, Max CP +30
- Have a base Tales of Arise save data with all subquests cleared - 800 SP, 20,000 Gald, Max CP +30
- Have all party members reach Lv100 in base Tales of Arise - Bonus weapons
Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn will launch on November 9. Even though you can play the expansion story right away as it launches, you will still need to have access to the base game, which is available immediately on the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
