Grandia, Eiyuden Chronicle, and Dragon's Dogma lead the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for November 2023
Sony unveiled the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog offerings for November 2023, and RPG fans will find at least three games to pique their interest. Subscribers to the PS Plus Premium Tier will be able to access the PS1 version of 1999 RPG Grandia, while subscribers at the PS Plus Extra tier will gain access to Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen and Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising, the side-scrolling companion game to next year's Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
Grandia appears as a Premium-tier PlayStation classic title, and matches the PS1-era release of Game Arts' first entry into the series. Players will step into the shoes of adventurer Justin, who inherits a mysterious Spirit Stone artifact, and goes off on a journey that will push the frontier in a setting where the End of the World is a literal end: A massive wall on a faraway continent.
With its sequel in development and planned for release next year, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen arrives on the Extra-tier Game Catalog to introduce new players to its idiosyncratic approach to open-world RPG design, as well as its fast-paced action-RPG combat.
Meanwhile, Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising is a side-scrolling companion title to Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. According to Adam's review, Rising serves as a promising introduction to the world of Eiyuden Chronicle, and puts players in the shoes of several heroes as they quest to help out their town and develop a city.
Other notable PS Plus Game Catalog titles include the 3D perspective-based puzzle title Superliminal, which challenges players to manipulate optical illusions and the first-person perspective to solve brain-bending tricks of perception and vision. Players who want more violence out of their first-person adventures will be able to access Dead Island: Riptide. Teardown also puts the promise of an almost totally destructible environment in the hands of players who will need to get through a series of obstacles to their goal. And Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme VS Maxi Boost On will give mecha fans a taste of the cutthroat competitive play stemming from Bandia Namco's venerable arcade action series. Fans of narrative adventures can also check out Alternate Jake Hunter: DAEDALUS The Awakening of Golden Jazz, the oddly titled detective story and the latest localized installment of classic Japanese detective series Tantei Jinguji Saburo.
