Persona 3 Reload battle system teaser shows off menus and attacks, character teasers introduce Ken and Aigis
With Persona 3 Reload approaching its early 2024 release date, Atlus has unveiled a new teaser trailer focused on in-game battle features and footage. The Persona 3 Reload battle system teaser trailer introduces a few key points for potential newcomers to the series.
Check it out below:
The Persona 3 Reload battle system appears to be broadly similar to the original version of the game, with inflections introduced by later games like Persona 4 and Persona 5, as well as new feature. The tooltips highlight items that Persona series veterans should find familiar, like attacking enemies' elemental weaknesses to obtain a extra "1more" turns. Pressing a trigger allows players to Shift, letting a party member take an action, the better to continue a chain of weakness-hitting and opening up foes to an All-Out Attack.
New features like Theurgy skills give characters more options to deal out heavy damage. The teaser demonstrates character-specific Theurgy skills like Aigis' Orgia mode, as well as a dual-Persona attack used by the protagonist.
Earlier uploads from Atlus also introduced more of the core cast, like the android Aigis and Ken Amada.
Here's Aigis' Persona 3 Reload character teaser:
Aigis is an android created by the Kirijo group as a weapon to fight Shadows. She has a number of onboard weapon systems, including machine guns in her hands, alongside other armaments and the Persona Palladion. After she joins the group, she participates in daily life as a student at Gekkokan High. She is also able to understand Koromaru.
Aigis is voiced in English by Dawn M. Bennett, who voices Yukong in Honkai Star Rail and the female Shez in Fire Emblem: Three Hopes. In Japanese, Aigis is voiced by Maaya Sakamoto, who also voices Leonardo da Vinci in Fate/Grand Order and Mari Illustrious Makinami in Rebuild of Evangelion.
Here's Ken Amada's character teaser:
Ken Amada is an elementary school student, but is intelligent and precocious, displaying maturity beyond his years. He joins SEES after his potential as a Persona wielder is discovered, and can call the Persona Nemesis in battle. He uses spears as his chosen weapon, and loves the hero show Featherman. In English, Ken is voiced by Justine Lee, who also voices the President in Don't Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro. In Japanese, Ken is voiced by Megumi Ogata, who voiced Shinji in the Evangelion series, Makoto Naegi in Danganronpa, and Grimnir in Granblue Fantasy.
Persona 3 Reload launches on Xbox Series X|S, PC, Xbox One, PS4, and PS5 on February 2, 2024.
