Dark Souls PC version confirmed

Namco Bandai has confirmed today via a press event that the rumors are true: Dark Souls is on its way to PC.

Released under the name Dark Souls - Prepare to Die Edition, the PC port will contain all new content including new elementals and locations.

Namco went on to say that the decision to move the game to the PC platform was largely in part of a recent fan petition, although the PS3 and Xbox version has currently sold 1.3 million copies to date worldwide (1.5 million shipped).

Dark Souls for PC (Games for Windows Live) will be available on August 24th worldwide at both retail and through digital download.
