Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is receiving a DLC Epilogue on January 11, 2024

In a somewhat unexpected announcement, The Pokemon Company and Game Freak announced today that Pokemon Scarlet & Pokemon Violet will be receiving an additional DLC "Epilogue" on January 11, 2024. The second of the two-part DLC The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero was just released last week, but it seems like we'll have one more hurrah in Paldea before moving onto whatever is next for Pokemon in 2024.

The short announcement trailer shows the main characters of the base game Nemona, Arvin, and Penny arriving in Kitakami for one last adventure. The characters were not present in either The Teal Mask or The Indigo Disk, so it's neat that they will be able to have one additional story in the new story content.

While not many details were provided, the trailer does state that in order to access the new Epilogue chapter, players will need to complete "A certain postgame event" as well as the main stories of the two DLC episodes. We assume this means one playthrough of the Academy Ace Tournament, but we'll know for sure early next year.
