Xuan Yuan Sword: Gate of the Firmament announced for PS5, Xuan Yuan Sword 7 Switch release updated
Publisher Eastasiasoft has announced that it will bring action RPG Xuan-Yuan Sword: The Gate of Firmament to PS5 in 2024. It also updated the release window for its in-development Nintendo Switch port of Xuan-Yuan Sword VII.
Eastasiasoft delivered the announcements via its Early 2024 showcase stream. You can see brief teasers for both The Gate of Firmament and Xuan-Yuan Sword VII at the 1:10 and 6:30 marks.
According to Eastasiasoft, the Nintendo Switch version of Xuan-Yuan Sword VII will launch in Spring 2024. Pre-orders for the physical edition are available via online retailer Play-Asia. The Switch edition was initially set for a 2023 release window, though it launched on PS4 and Xbox One in 2021.
Xuan Yuan Sword: The Gate of Firmament first released in China and Taiwan on PC in March 2015. A global PC release went out in February 2016, followed by Chinese-language PS4 and Xbox One releases in 2017.
Though it's the twelfth game in the Xuan-Yuan Sword series, it's not a "mainline" numbered sequel. Though the PC version is available, the PS5 version will include enhancements to the game's graphics, loading times, and unlock all previously released DLC.

Xuan Yuan Sword: The Gate of Firmament is a beloved entry in the long-running RPG series based on a mix of Chinese history and mythology. This standalone tale innovates with 3D presentation and real-time combat while retaining and evolving elements for which the series has long been revered.
