Owlcat Games releases first major patch, celebrates 500k sales for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader

Following up on last year's release of Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, developer Owlcat Games is celebrating the game's success - confirming that the title sold over 500k copies within its first month of release, and highlighting the game's critical reception with a new Accolades Trailer to commemorate the occasion.

Alongside today's celebrations, the company has also released the first major patch for the game, patch 1.1, which has brought 1,800+ fixes to the game - including some efforts to rebalance combat and "hundreds" of major and minor bug fixes. 

Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Mac and PC (Steam). In its first month, Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader sold over 500,000 copies across all platforms. To commemorate this important milestone, as well as the cRPG's critical success, Owlcat Games has put together a brand new trailer highlighting some of the critical acclaim.

The Owlcat Games team has been hard at work to address bugs and issues present in Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader. Today, the team is excited to release patch 1.1, which features over 1,800 fixes. These fixes include:

• Combat Balance Updates - Dozens of tweaked abilities, weapon stats, and combat encounters.
• Additional Voiceover - Newly-recorded dialogue added to the game’s prologue and additional companion banters throughout the game.
• Ulfar Rebalance Update - Unique starting equipment fit for the Adeptus Astartes, a buff to Ulfar’s basic stats, and improved abilities such as a buffed ‘Go For The Throat’ ability and the option for allies to use Ulfar as cover.
• Bug Fixes - Hundreds of major and minor fixes for abilities and items.
