Atlus takes over publishing duties for Dragon's Crown, delayed into 2013

It's been quite some time since we last heard about Vanillaware's Dragon's Crown. Announced last year at E3, the game had seemingly gone dark. Fast forward to a few weeks ago and the news came that Amazon.com had been cancelling all current pre-orders on the game.

Despite that, the developers insisted the game was still in progress. Now today, we finally have some answers.

Atlus USA has announced (via the PS Blog) that they are taking over both publishing and production duties in both North America and Japan. What this means is that members of Atlus's own development team will be involved with the project on a much more personal level to hopefully make the game even better.

As Dragon's Crown has since switched hands from Ignition, the game will now release sometime in 2013 for both PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. As such, Atlus says that they can no longer offer the game for the previously promised price of $29.99 per version. They promise more news in the coming months, however, so stay tuned.
