Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon- release date set for June 27
Publisher Aniplex has an official release date for Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon-, the remake of legendary visual novel Tsukihime. It launches on PS4 and Nintendo Switch on June 27, 2024.
The original Tsukihime was released for PC in 1999, and since then has received a number of spin-offs and adaptations, including an animated series and French Bread's Melty Blood fighting game series. It's not officially available overseas, but has received fan translations. Tsukihime stars a young man, Tohno Shiki, who can see "lines of death" crisscrossing everything and everyone around him. Cutting along those lines with a knife can instally destroy or kill anything. The story follows Shiki's encounters with various supernatural people, particularly a vampire named Arcueid Brunestud. Tsukihime was never made available in English officially, though it received a fan translation, and the anime adaptation was licensed and published in various regions.
Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon- was first announced in 2008, and was finally released in Japan in August 2021. Aniplex of America confirmed an English localization for the game was in the works in July 2023. The remake features a fully rewritten narrative compared to the original, full voice acting, new characters, and updated character designs for the whole cast. That said, A piece of blue glass moon is technically just the first installment of the remake, featuring two of original five story routes. Type-Moon has not yet announced its plans regarding further Tsukihime Remake entries.
Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon- launches for Switch and PS4 on June 27, 2024.
