Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC
Square Enix has released a new small teaser for the long-awaited Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake to celebrate this year's Dragon Quest Day. A mysterious new teaser was posted on the Dragon Quest X (formerly known as Twitter) account with a 20-second clip drawing in an updated design of the iconic Dragon Quest III logo. The video simply says "The legacy begins." and lists the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Steam, and Windows logos at the bottom.
The text inside the post itself says "The legend of Erdrick draws near." Erdrick is the most common name utilized when referring to the protagonist of Dragon Quest III and is commonly accepted as the canonical name for that specific protagonist in the series. A Dragon Quest and 'HD-2D' logo appears in the very brief teaser video, as well.
Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake has been long dormant since its initial announcement in May 2021. Since then, news on the title has been quite sparse, though Square Enix has provided several comments throughout the years that the title was still in production.
It seems like more news on Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake is just around the corner as its welcome re-emergence on Dragon Quest Day is anything to go by.
