Mecha strategy RPG Kriegsfront Tactics provides new vertical slice in a separate Prologue demo for free on July 18

Toge Productions has provided a new update on their upcoming mecha strategy RPG Kriegsfront Tactics  at the Guerilla Collective 2024 event. They will be providing a new vertical slice for their RPG called Kriegsfront Tactics - Prologue that is a separate demo from the already existing demo listed on the Kriegsfront Tactics Steam page that is currently available at the time of writing.

The developers have described Kriegsfront Tactics - Prologue as "the proof of concept for the upcoming procedural turn-based mecha tactics RPG set in alternate 1970s Southeast Asia." Additionally, Toge Productions gave additional context surrounding the reason for the separate Prologue demo.

When we say RPG, we're not just talking about the stats and leveling mechanics; we're also talking about the world, the characters, the story, and other narrative elements that make a role-playing game great. Our team has been working non-stop to tie in all the mechanics into a playable vertical slice, and after many months, that RPG vertical slice is now almost complete.

With that said, we are happy to announce that we'll be releasing this vertical slice as a prologue on Steam for FREE! It will be available for you to download on July 18, 2024.

This prologue demo will not have the procedural system that the full game will have, but it will include the prologue chapter that introduces the events that trigger the conflict in the full release of Kriegsfront Tactics.

Players will be able to check out the mecha customization system in the prologue demo, as well as a bit of the world exploration mechanic.

Kriegsfront Tactics has only been announced for Steam and no release date for the full release has been revealed yet.

A Prologue Vertical Slice

Now that we've delivered the turn-based tactical mecha combat, we've been working hard to add the RPG experience into our Procedural Tactical RPG and package it into one cohesive experience.

When we say RPG, we're not just talking about the stats and leveling mechanics; we're also talking about the world, the characters, the story, and other narrative elements that make a role-playing game great. Our team has been working non-stop to tie in all the mechanics into a playable vertical slice, and after many months, that RPG vertical slice is now almost complete.

With that said, we are happy to announce that we'll be releasing this vertical slice as a prologue on Steam for FREE! It will be available for you to download on July 18, 2024.

The prologue doesn't have the procedural system implemented yet (that will be for another milestone update), but here are the things that you'll find in this RPG vertical slice:

• Prologue Story - This vertical slice will serve as the prologue chapter, an opening introduction that kicks off the events that trigger the conflict in the full game.
• Mecha Customization & Stats - You'll be able to customize your mechs and see how your pilots level up their skills. Not only that, you can change each mech's body parts and weapon load out, you can also customize their paint job and cosmetics.
• Exploration - We've added a world exploration layer where you can roam around, discover new places, and encounter events that'll tell you a bit more about the characters and the world of Kriegsfront Tactics.
• Voice Actors - And what better way to bring those characters to life than hiring some of the best voice actors? Here's the current list of Kriegsfront Tactics Voice Actors: Michael Gonzalez, Belsheber Rusape, Su Ling Chan, Damon Alums, Craig Lee Thomas
