Tetsuya Nomura: "It's about time that Kingdom Hearts should go back to being on a console"
Final Fantasy Versus XIII wasn't the only thing director Tetsuya Nomura talked about in his interview with GameInfotmer. In fact, he shared a few hints on the future of the Kingdom Hearts series.
The most obvious question centered on possible HD remasters for Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II. Square Enix is currently working on Final Fantasy X for PS3 and Vita so it would only make sense for KH to as well. To that Nomura said, "I do have an interest in HD versions, and I'm currently researching them. If it is possible, I would like to do something about the series being spread over so many different consoles, too. I am thinking a lot about the future."
When asked about a possible game on the PlayStation Vita, Nomura explained that "The PS Vita is definitely a powerful device that is very interesting, but because of it's high power, there isn't much of a difference with a console. So even if we were to make a game, we would have to be very careful about how to create it for that device. I also feel that it's about time that Kingdom Hearts should go back to being on a console."
So there you have it. Even Nomura echos the fans in their wish to see the series return to its console roots. If your interested in the rest of the interview, check out the June issue of GameInformer magazine.
