XSEED Games to release Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana in the west
XSEED Games is set to release Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana in the west, according to a now-deleted post on the company's Twitter account. The tweet was spotted by Gematsu before it was taken down.
XSEED Games recently teased a secret title to be announced at Anime Expo from July 4-7, but it seems like a mistimed tweet revealed the secret earlier than planned.
Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana is an enhanced port of 2005's Ys: The Oath In Felghana (which itself is a remake of Ys III: Wanderers from Ys.) It has been released for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch in Japan over the past year.
As previously detailed, the enhancements to this new version of the game include:
- Improved sound effects and HD visuals
- Fully voiced events & a new voice for Adol Christin (CV: Yuki Kaji)
- A toggle between newly drawn "Refine" character portraits or the original portraits from the PC/PSP versions
- Three toggleable soundtracks: Original (PC/PSP) version, PC-8801 version, and X68000 version (these OSTs were added to the existing PC version in a 2020 update)
- A High-Speed Mode that allows battle and field movement to be sped up to 1.5x or 2.0x speed.
- Support for beginner-mode type functionality, including removal of fall damage.
As this is not yet a formal announcement, we'll have to wait to learn details about the western release, such as the release date.
