Kuro Games brings free-to-play open-world action RPG Wuthering Waves to PlayStation 5
Kuro Games has announced that their free-to-play open-world action RPG Wuthering Waves is on its way to PlayStation 5. No release date has been shared, but signs that the title was coming to PlayStation was previously alluded to when PlayStation informed the public on BiliBili that they were showcasing Wuthering Waves at this year's ChinaJoy event. Wuthering Waves previously launched on May 22 for mobile devices and PC.
In Wuthering Waves, players step into the shoes of an amnesiac character whom others refer to as Rover. They begin their tale by meeting two characters, Yangyang and Chixia, outside the city of Jinzhou. Before they reach it, they link up with Baizhi and encounter a mysterious Tacet Discord creature, the Crownless. It nearly destroys them but suddenly, Rover absorbs the creature into their hand - which immediately calls into question the enigmatic identity of the Rover.
Since its launch, Wuthering Waves has received Update 1.1 that added the new Mt. Firmament region that adds a new landmass at the southern region of its open world. It directly continues the main story and more story updates are planned in the future. At the moment, it is unclear if the PlayStation 5 release of Wuthering Waves will launch with the story updates that have already arrived on other platforms and if Kuro Games intends to achieve content parity with them.
