A new Super Robot Wars crossover entry is in the works

Bandai Namco and B.B. Studio have posted a new teaser tweet that indicates the latter is working on a new Super Robot Wars game. The comment also hints that the new entry will feature a crossover story with existing robot and mecha franchises.

The original Japanese tweet is available right below:

And our direct translation of B.B. Studio's comment is as follows:

We are undergoing development for a Super Robot Wars that has a dream collaboration among robots from various works!

Please kindly experience the crossover story! Super Robot Wars DD is currently being published.

The series' latest console entry is Super Robot Wars 30, which also made history for being the series' first-ever crossover title to get a worldwide release in 2021, albeit only for the digital PC release on Steam. However, the team's console development scene has gone silent for quite a long time after they finished adding SRW30's post-release DLC sets in 2022. As shown at the end of the comment, the team has recently become more focused on maintaining Super Robot Wars DD, the East Asia-exclusive mobile game that has been running since 2019.

There has also been a growing amount of desire from the fandom to see a continuation of the Super Robot Wars:  Original Generations sub-series that only features original characters and mechs made for the games. The series' supervisor and ex-producer Takanobu Terada is still working on the plot for the new OG entry even after he had left B.B. Studio in 2021. However, B.B. Studio's new comment above indicates that the next game they are working on will be a non-OG, regular crossover title. It will therefore take more time until the new OG title comes into fruition.
