Fate/Extra Record launches for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC Steam in 2025
Type-Moon announced at FGO Fes 2024 that Fate/Extra Record will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam in 2025. In addition, the company revealed that Bandai Namco will become the remake's publisher. That would mark a departure from the original game, which was published by Marvelous in Japan in 2010 (and Aksys Games for North America in 2011 and Ghostlight for Europe in 2012).
Fate/Extra Record was originally revealed in 2020 on the original game's 10th anniversary. However, the remake's update went silent after the last update appeared in 2022. This is presumably because Type-Moon shifted their focus to Fate/Samurai Remnant. But now that the latter already had its season pass DLC completely finished, the studio can return to this project. This is also evidenced by Studio BB publishing a new sneak peek trailer just a couple of weeks ago. The new 2025 release window will now prime the remake for Fate/Extra's 15th anniversary.
Prior trailers for the game—including the most recent sneak peek trailer—have been available on Type-Moon Studio BB's YouTube channel. But since Bandai Namco has been revealed as the publisher, the newest trailer instead appears on the latter's channel. You can also find the new trailer right below.
