Sci-fi deckbuilder RPG Dark Sky launches on September 24 for PC

Developer Ganymede Games and publisher Midwest Games announced that sci-fi deckbuilder RPG Dark Sky is arriving on September 24 for PC (Steam, GOG). It is the debut title for Ganymede Games. The game allows players to customize their deck as they navigate their squad in turn-based battles on a grid to get enemies into range for attacks. Each of the six playable characters possess their own set of cards that define their role and playstyle.

In Dark Sky, players experience the story through the eyes of a shipyard worker named Squig. An enigmatic force suddenly disables the airborne capabilities of all spacecraft and Squig embarks on a quest with his friend Norton to search for survivors in the aftermath of the catastrophe.

The developers encourage people to tinker with their builds and strategy continuously as they progress through the game. Players can save multiple decks they've made and re-spec as many times as they need to try out different approaches.

Midwest Games—an industry veteran-led publisher whose mission is to support and showcase abundant talent across the Midwest and underrepresented regions—and southwest indie developer Ganymede Games are proud to announce that turn-based sci-fi deck-building RPG Dark Sky is set to release on September 24, 2024 on Windows PC via Steam and GOG.

Dark Sky offers a fresh experience for deckbuilding and RPG players, featuring in-depth character card customization, strategic combat, and clever card synergies to explore. Set on the once peaceful mining planet, Wolf Prime, players will engage in card and grid-based combat, optimize their party’s abilities, study their enemies, and exploit their weaknesses to maximize damage and, ultimately, liberate their home.

Players will take on the role of Squig, a modest shipyard worker who has witnessed a mysterious force pull all spacecraft down from the sky, shrouding the landscape in wreckage, debris, and danger. With the help of Squig and his friend Norton, players will gather a team of survivors for a journey to uncover the mystery behind the sudden cataclysm. As devastation rains from above, players must take matters into their own hands before Wolf Prime is torn apart.

Formerly titled Xenotheria, Dark Sky is Ganymede Games’ first title, and the initial narrative of a much larger universe to come.
