The next Tales of series game asks "Are you prepared to destroy the world for a girl?"
By now you've probably heard the news that a new Tales of game is set for reveal next month. Shocking, I know, but since the new game is already confirmed to be a mothership title we're pretty excited.
Although the official reveal isn't until June 2nd, Famitsu (via AndriaSang) got to spend some time with series producer Hideo Baba on the matter.
Once again, we have confirmation that the game is going to be a "mothership" title. What this means is that it'll be a mainline Tales game similar to Tales of the Abyss, Vesperia, Graces, Xillia, etc. The theme for the game is apparently, "Are you prepared to destroy the world for a girl?"
While those previous titles focused on a setting grounded much more in fantasy elements, the new game will have a more modern style and the world thick with cultural elements. Baba says that despite these changes, fans shouldn't worry as it will still retain the usual "Tales" feel. His goal is to challenge the team to take the series to the next level.
Naturally, Namco has more than just one Tales game in development. With the Tales Studio staff moved to Namco Bandai proper, he believes these changes will have a positive effect.
The Tales of festival event in Japan is closing in fast. Fans can tune in to watch the event live. Developers and publishers Namco Bandai will be airing commercials for the game during the Hey! Hey! Hey! broadcast on Fuji TV on the 21st and 28th so be sure to check them out.
