Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island will get a Plus Pack DLC
Spike Chunsoft has revealed new DLC for Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island at the Japanese August 2024 Nintendo Direct. The DLC set will be known as Plus Pack, and players only need to buy it once at 1,980 yen (1,800 yen + 10% tax) in Japan. The pack will gradually add new content to the game in two separate waves.
The company has also summarized details about the DLC pack on the game's Japanese official website. The first part of the update will appear on September 5, and it will add the animal Koppa as a new playable character. Koppa cannot equip gear nor deal damage with attacks, so players will have to make use of its double-speed movement and unique stomach-consuming abilities like Stink Bomb or Hole-Digging to fend off monsters. The second part on October 31 will add the female warrior Asuka to the playable roster.
Each part will also add five new dungeons for a total of ten. Each of these dungeons will have unique rules. One of them will randomize the player's inventory every new floor. The other will place emphasis on setting traps and having the player character transform into a monster.
