Stray Children launches for Nintendo Switch in Japan on December 26

Onion Games newly showcased Stray Children at the Japanese August 2024 Nintendo Direct. The studio also confirmed the full Japanese release date for the new game. It will be available for Nintendo Switch in Japan on December 26.

The last time we spotted this game was in the September 2023 Direct. This game is a new project from Onion Games, which is best known for creating Moon.

As this announcement was exclusively made on the Japanese Direct, it does not include a release date for the English version, which is still listed as "TBD" on the English website as of this writing. Onion Games have also corroborated the news in The Secret Onion Cellar newsletter. However, they also teased that with the Japanese release date now confirmed, the English version's release is "that much closer as well."

The standalone trailer from the Nintendo Direct is also available on the Japanese Nintendo YouTube channel, and you can find it right below. The upcoming English release is also slated to be available first on the Switch.
