Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 showcases 7-minutes of new gameplay footage for the upcoming turn-based RPG

Developer Sandfall Interactive and publisher Kepler Interactive had more to share on its exciting new turn-based RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. The now highly-anticipated project made a huge splash in its debut at the Xbox Games Showcase 2024 event back in June and Alex shared his recent hands-off experience with the title earlier today.

The new footage for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 shows many of the elements Alex was describing in action. People travel through gorgeous environments and fight foes along the way in a reactive turn-based battle system. Several QTE prompts during attacks can enhance the damage a player deals, but when it's time for the enemy's turn, people hae several defensive options they can make right before an enemy strikes their party members.

People can choose to dodge or parry incoming attacks and some characters will perform a counterattack when these are performed successfully. According to Alex, it's possible to get through combat without always being able to hit all these prompts perfectly so those that are less adept to those kinds of systems can still progress at their own leisure.

Watch the new gameplay footage for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 down below. It will be launching in 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC & will be coming to Game Pass on Day 1.
