Dragon's Dogma 2 receives a new, easier Casual Mode difficulty available now in its latest update
Capcom has continually been patching Dragon's Dogma 2 since its launch in March earlier this year. They've been persistent in optimizing its performance and ironing out any lingering bugs. One of the most substantial content updates has just arrived to the open-world action RPG with the introduction of a new Casual Mode difficulty that tweaks the game experience to be a bit kinder to folks that want an easier time - along with several other key additions and adjustments.
Some of the features in Casual Mode include reducing inn fees and how much Ferrystones cost, as well as reduced stamina cost when dashing around out of combat. Plus, it takes more weight to shift to the "Heavy" and "Very Heavy" thresholds allowing Casual Mode players' Arisen and Pawns to carry more stuff. Pawns afflicted with the menacing dragonsplague disease will not cause a "devastating calamity" even if their symptoms reach the terminal stage on Casual Mode.
Players can choose to start the game on Casual Mode or switch to Casual Mode mid-playthrough, but they cannot return to Normal Mode until they finish the game. The game will also warn you how many trophies you can no longer earn if you switch to Casual Mode.
Separate from Casual Mode, Capcom finally added a Portcrystal to the main city of Bakbattahl. Several adjustments were made to the Fighter, Warrior, Archer, Mage, Thief, and Mystic Spearhand Vocations as well.
Dragon's Dogma 2 is currently available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam).
