Atelier Ryza games receive optimization patches and upgrades to celebrate the series' 5th anniversary

Fans of the Atelier Ryza series (also known as the "Secret" series in Atelier franchise parlance) are getting a few upgrades to celebrate the line's fifth anniversary. In an announcement, Koei Tecmo and Gust outlined what it called the "Secret series optimization update," a trio of major patches for Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout, Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends and the Secret Fairy, and Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key. The patches are live as of this writing on PC, Switch, and PS4.

Individually, the patches are oriented towards general gameplay enhancements and "quality-of-life" or convenience upgrades. For example, all three games received options to fast forward through Fatal Drive animations and event scenes, as well as adding auto-play options for event scene text. Other useability improvements include additional graphics settings options, and adjustments to the keyboard and mouse controls on the PC versions of the game.

Atelier Ryza version 1.10 (PS4), 1.0.9 (Switch), 1.09/1.10 (PC/Steam)

  • Added an auto-save feature.
  • Added an option to fast forward Fatal Drive.
  • Added an option to fast forward event scenes.
  • Added an option to auto-play text during event scenes.
  • Added graphics settings to the Options menu.
  • Changed the keyboard and mouse controls on the Steam® version.
  • Made other small adjustments.

Atelier Ryza 2 version 1.08 (Ps4/PS5), 1.0.8 (Switch) 1.07/1.08 (PC/Steam)

  •  Added the "Very Easy" difficulty.
  •  Added an option to fast forward Fatal Drive.
  •  Added an option to fast forward event scenes.
  •  Adjusted auto-play speed of text during event scenes.
  •  Added graphics settings to the Options menu.
  • Changed the keyboard and mouse controls on the Steam® version.
  • Made other small adjustments.

Atelier Ryza 3 version 1.007 (PS5), 1.09 (PS4), 1.7.0 (Switch), 1.7.0/1.07 (PC/Steam)

  • Added the "Very Easy" difficulty.
  • Added an option to fast forward Fatal Drive.
  • Added a new landmark: Kala's Tent
    • Note: Kala's Tent will be added as a landmark after visiting it once this update has been applied.
  • Changed the completion requirements for Klaudia's "Three Medicines" character quest.
  • Other minor adjustments and bug fixes.
