Level-5 pushes DecaPolice into 2026, commits to PC release and simultaneous anime adaptation
Level-5 is still working on its crime-suspense RPG DecaPolice, but it'll take a while yet: The company has pushed the game's release window more than a year out of its original 2024 frame. DecaPolice is now expected to debut sometime in 2026 on PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The commitment to a PC release via Steam is new, as previous reveals for DecaPolice were vague on the possibility.
According to Level-5's Akihiro Hino, who hosted the Level-5 Vision 2024 broadcast, the development team is "evolving" the game's open-world design, as well as improving its visuals and systems to be more engaging, and thus needs more time to finish. He also said that a DecaPolice anime series is planned for simultaneous release alongside the game. To when players' appetites somewhat, Level-5 also unveiled the game's theme song, "City of Love" which is performed by singer MARiA, one half of rock duo GARNiDELiA.
James witnessed a demo session of DecaPolice back at the 2023 Tokyo Game Show, and at the time the game was in the running for his game of the show. What he saw seemed to be fully featured RPG with a focus on police invesitgation and a unique combat system based on disabling and detaining enemies.
DecaPolice launches in 2026 on PC, Switch, PS4, and PS5.
