Assassin's Creed Shadows postponed to February 14, 2025 and will also be coming to Steam at launch
Ubisoft announced that the release date of Assassin's Creed Shadows will be delayed to February 14, 2025. It was initially releasing on November 15. The title's PC release was previously going to be only coming to the Ubisoft Store and Epic Games Store, but now it will also be releasing on Steam at launch as well.
All existing current preorders for Assassin's Creed Shadows will be refunded because all future preorders for it henceforth will receive the first expansion for free. Previously, the traditional Season Pass model for Ubisoft had upcoming expansions on it, but this new update for Assassin's Creed Shadows will give the first expansion for free to those who preorder it.
According to Marc-Alexis Côté in a post, the reason for the delay is "to polish and refine the experience, pushing further some of our key features."
Assassin's Creed Shadows is still releasing on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Ubisoft Store, Epic Games Store, and now Steam) with a new release date of February 14, 2025.
