2D pixel action RPG HYKE: Northern Light(s) announced by developer Blast Edge Games and publishers Akatsuki Games & Aniplex
Developer Blast Edge Games and publishes Akatsuki Games & Aniplex unveiled HYKE: Northern Light(s), a brand-new 2D pixel action RPG. They have not shared which platforms it's launching on, nor a release date or window yet.
Players step into the shoes of a witch named Hyke who journeys around the world following her mother's foosteps. Traveling throughout a post-apocalyptic world from a war between humans and witches, Hyke will meet various witches that join her as the story progresses; each witch exhibits a different playstyle and people can swap between companions at will.
Hyke's story is set into motion once she encounters a witch named Metheos in an unexplored land called the Forbidden Areas.
The title's producer is Hiroaki Iwano, who previously worked as an Assistance Producer on the Chaos Ring series and last worked as the Million Artthur series producer at Square Enix before leaving in 2019.
Meanwhile, the character designer for HYKE: Nothern Light(s) is orie and the Dot Art Designer is Setamo/Shiros.
HYKE: Northern Light(s) will be voiced in Japanese, but will support text in several different languages including Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, English, Korean, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Turkish, Russian, Dutch, and Portuguese.

A witch who travels the world in search of her mother. She cherishes the car, radio, and camera that her father gave her. An experienced traveler and seasoned camper.
Riko
CV: Aoi Koga
A witch who travels with Hyke. She carries Rabby, a plushie backpack that contains mana.
Fall Out
CV: Manaka Iwami
A witch who guards the rune deep in the Crimson Forest. She is able to communicate with plants, animals, and other creatures that do not have languages, and manipulates magic with their help.
Mother Brain
CV: Yumiri Hanamori
A witch who guards the rune deep underground on an isolated tropical island. She uses firearms and drones driven by magic, but fights in a way that bears little resemblance to magic.
Extra
CV: Fairouz Ai
A witch who guards the rune in the depths of the vast wilderness. Her values are fundamentally different from those of humans and witches, and often has trouble communicating with them.
