Front Mission 1st: Remake free Mercenaries DLC arrives on October 3

Though the Front Mission 3 remake is still in development, Forever Entertainment isn't quite done yet with Front Mission 1st: Remake . A new announcement confirms that the free "Mercenaries" DLC that was announced way back in December 2023 will launch on all platforms.

Forever Entertainment also debuted a trailer alongside the announcement.

As originally announced, the "Mercenaries" update will add in new original single-player scenarios starring 15 new playable characters and tuned to "provide a diverse array of challenges," while featuring gameplay twists like new terrain types and tiles to consider in combat.

It also adds local multiplayer in the form of "hot seat" mode, where two players can play opposing sides of a battle on the same machine.

In his review of Front Mission 1st: Remake, Quinton said praised the game's maps and battles, but remarked that "at times it seems the game itself becomes your primary antagonist."

Front Mission 1st: Remake is available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The "Mercenaries" update launches for free on October 3, 2024.
