Capcom introduces the basics of Monster Hunter Wilds in Beginner's Guide video

In case you're curious about Monster Hunter Wilds but haven't kept up with any other coverage of the game, Capcom might have the video for you. The company recently uploaded the "Beginner's Guide to Monster Hunter Wilds" to promote the game and lay out many of Wilds' key features and systems.

Check it out below:

Narrated by Alma, the player's Handler, the Monster Hunter Wilds beginner's guide video runs for nearly twleve minutes and covers the game in substantial detail, with an eye towards highlighting unique elements of the game. The video introduces the player's expedition team, and focuses on The Windward Plains, a desert biome regularly menaced by a massive "Sandtide" sandstorm phenomenon. The video also outlines basic monster ecology, the array of weapons available to hunters in Wilds, hazards like quicksand traps dug by the worm-like Balahara monster, and even staple Monster Hunter concepts like the Base Camp and Endemic Life.

Notably, the video also describes how Wilds handles SOS matchmaking. Separately from the player's Palico Felyne companion, players can send up a flare to signal support hunters to drop into the session. Should a player be offline or matchmaking not find available hunters, NPC hunters will join the fray.

Monster Hunter Wilds launches for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on February 28, 2024.
