Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii bumps up its release date to February 21, 2025 thanks to Monster Hunter Wilds
During the Xbox Partner Preview showcase that just aired, RGG Studio and Sega announced that Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii will now be releasing on February 21, 2025 - a week earlier from their initial February 28, 2025 release date from its initial announcement a few weeks ago. Alongside the new trailer and release date, an interview with Like a Dragon series Chief Producer Hiroyuki Sakamoto on Xbox Wire reveals more of the game including that it is set six months after the events of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
Majima and his crew can explore different locations beyond Hawaii including Madlantis (a ship graveyard dug into a cave on a secret island), Rich Island, and even some hidden islands. In the interview he also goes on to confirm that an extended look at both Naval Combat and Majima's Sea Dog style that features dual-wielding cutlass short swords, pistols and other pirate tools will be arriving in the future.
Sega also posted a message from RGG Studio that basically confirms that the release date change was because of Monster Hunter Wilds with Masayoshi Yokoyama hoping that players will enjoy hunting at their own pace after playing Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.
