Muv-Luv Tactics: Kalidasa's Nightmare is a turn-based strategy RPG under development for PC
aNCHOR and fuzz have published some details about Muv-Luv Tactics: Kalidasa's Nightmare at the Muv-Luv Presents Boarding Bridge 2024 live stream. The new game is going to be a strategy RPG that will be available on PCs.
When aNCHOR published the first teaser reveal trailer for the strategy RPG last August, they barely show any details about the gameplay. They finally showed footage from an early development build in this stream.
From what we could see, Muv-Luv Tactics will have a turn-based strategy RPG system with the turns alternating between the player and enemy sides. The player will be able to move units on a free range as opposed to grids, which has also been previously seen in Super Robot Wars Neo and OE/Operation Extend. But unlike most of the existing mech-based strategy RPGs like SRW, SD Gundam G Generation, or Front Mission, all units on the same side will move simultaneously only after the player has finished moving all of them.
An archive of the Japanese stream is available right below. The Muv-Luv Tactics segment officially starts from the 01:54:57 mark, while the exact gameplay footage should begin from around 2:23:50.
The Muv-Luv Tactics team has also set up a Japan-exclusive crowdfunding page for the game on Campfire, but details are still very scarce as of this writing. This is because the actual crowdfunding session will only run from November 16 until December 27. Backer rewards are expected to be delivered next year in February 2025, which could also hint at the earliest timeframe the game may be available to access. The team also announced plans to release a standalone release for Windows PCs first before they publish it on Steam.
