Post-Game Content

Rematch With The Seven Heroes

After completing the main story, a dungeon called Dreadhome will appear, where you can fight the "echoes of the Seven Heroes" under certain conditions.

The echoes of the Seven Heroes take the form of their human selves and are significantly stronger than their fiend forms faced in the main story, using familiar techniques as well as powerful new ones.

After fulfilling the conditions and defeating the echoes of the Seven Heroes, you will obtain the equipment that each of the Seven Heroes used. Equipping them will allow special techniques to be glimmered and used.

Techniques of the Seven Heroes that can be Glimmered

Lifesteal: A technique that can be glimmered by equipping Kzinssie's Soulreaper Bow. Absorbs a foe's LP and adds it to the user's.
Headbutt: A technique that can be glimmered by equipping Dantarg's Beast Gauntlets. Deals terrology damage to all foes.
Temptation: A technique that can be glimmered by equipping Rocbouquet's Temptation Blade. Deals damage to all foes and has a chance of inflicting Charm.
Aqua Luna: A technique that can be glimmered by equipping Bokhohn's Marionette's Club. Deals hydrology damage and reduces the foe's magic ability.
Heavenly Weaver: A technique that can be glimmered by equipping Subier's Nautilus Spear.Deals a large amount of cosmology damage to a single foe.
Life Sprinkler: A technique that can be glimmered by equipping Noel's Crimson Dragon. Deals a large amount of damage to a single foe with a succession of greatsword attacks.
Four Seasons: A technique that can be glimmered by equipping Noel's Dragonscale Axe. Deals a large amount of cosmology damage to a single foe.
Rosario Impale: A technique that can be glimmered by equipping Wagnas's Butterfly Sword. Deals critical damage to undead foes.

An Endless Battle Against the Termites, Enemy of All Mankind

Termites: Insectoid fiends that live deep underground in the Savannah region. In addition to their aggressive nature, they are extremely resilient and multiply rapidly, driving the Moles to the brink of extinction. They are a threat to all races.

Real Queen: The final form of the termite queen that has gathered strength over a long time underground in Avalon. Her immense power is enough to make the Seven Heroes tremble even in their heyday.

Dread Queen: After completing the main game, the battle against a royal among royals, the Dread Queen, awaits. The Dread Queen is said to be the origin of all termites, possessing the toughness and immense power that is fit for the highest of their ranks. She holds the entire world in a vice grasp of fear, and considers herself to reign supreme over all living things.

The Dread Queen can be rechallenged as many times as you like. Aim to break your record of defeating her in the least number of turns possible!

New Game+

You can start a new game which carries over your characters' stats and equipment, learned abilities, and formations, using save data where you have defeated the Dread Queen.

Even Higher Difficulty Levels

After defeating the Dread Queen, new difficulty levels "Expert" and "Romancing" are unlocked. “Expert” is intended to be a difficulty level which retains its challenge even on subsequent replays. “Romancing” on the other hand, is intended to be so challenging such that the player will need to try to prepare the strongest possible save data to start a NG+ file with to clear it.

The "Romancing" difficulty will keep you on your toes, even against enemies early in the game.

Please note that "Expert" and "Romancing" cannot be selected partway through your playthrough and cannot be reselected if you decide to lower the difficulty.

What is Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven?

Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven is a complete 3D remake of the original Romancing SaGa 2, first released in 1993 in Japan.

Keeping the epic story of the wars fought between the imperial line of Varennes Empire and the Seven Heroes of ancient myth, as well as all the unique and ground-breaking mechanics from the SaGa franchise, such as “Glimmers” and “Formations”, Revenge of the Seven re-works the battle and character growth systems and adds in numerous new features, such as difficulty selection, making it easily accessible to both long term fans of the series and complete newcomers.

The expansive world of Romancing SaGa 2, that was originally depicted using pixel graphics, has been fully updated to gorgeous 3D.

All the main characters, such as Leon, Gerard and the Seven Heroes have also been updated, with impressive 3D visuals that keep the distinctive character of the original sprites and event scenes are now fully voiced.

Inheritance: The Inheritance system lets you select the next Emperor and pass down the powers of the previous generation to them. Inheritance occurs when the current Emperor’s LP is reduced to zero, the current Emperor’s retinue is wiped out, time moves on to the next era, or the current Emperor abdicates.
Battle System: Encounters are conducted in a turn-based format along an overarching timeline, where all enemies and allies are marked on the timeline and each character can perform an action as soon as their turn comes around.
Glimmer: During battle, using a technique or spell marked with a light bulb icon can occasionally trigger a glimmer and the character will learn a new technique or spell. Spells will glimmer after combat.
Formations: You can arrange your retinue into formations before battle to grant them advantageous effects and status boosts.
United Attacks: The Overdrive gauge gains charge whenever you use a technique or spell that an enemy is weak to. Once the gauge is full, it can be spent to unleash a potent United Attack with your retinue members.
Development: You can develop new weapons and spells by investing in building facilities such as the Smithy and the Incantations Lab in Avalon.
Free-form Scenario: All player actions, including dialogue choices, order of areas visited, and what actions are taken in each locale have varying effects on how the story progresses. The overall story will continue regardless of what actions are taken, but there are countless variations on how the events within will take place.
