Aquaplus announces Utawarerumono: Shiro he no Michishirube, coming to Japan in Fall 2025
Aquaplus has revealed a brand-new Utawarerumono entry at the Great Aquaplus Festival -30th Anniversary- event. The new game will have the Japanese title Utawarerumono: Shiro he no Michishirube — the subtitle can also be translated to English as "Guidepost to White". The company will release the new game in Japan in Fall 2025, although they still haven't announced any platforms yet.
The reveal trailer for this new title was shown during a stage show at the anniversary event, which was exclusively available via paid tickets for both physical attendance and international live streaming. Aquaplus has, however, published a press release to share the reveal with the rest of the world.
The announcement comes with details of the Japanese opening theme song for Utawarerumono: Shiro he no Michishirube, which will be "Tsuki no Fune Miagete" (Look up at the Moon Boat) by Suara. It also reveals the key staff members behind the new game:
- Draft and scenario: Munemitsu Suga
- Character designer: mi
- Original character designers: Tatsuki Amaduyu and Misato Mitsumi
- Music director: Naoya Shimokawa
The press release also includes a few screenshots from the reveal trailer. One of them features the Monochrome Mobius character Shunya, which hints that the new title will have a direct relation to the game that Aquaplus has since touted to be a prequel to the Utawarerumono series.
As a side note, this new Utawarerumono entry is not the only title Aquaplus announced at the event. The company also revealed that they will restart the development of the contemporary-era visual novel Jasmine, which was first announced in the early 2010s but ended up getting canceled in 2015.
