Fantasian Neo Dimension and Tales of Graces f Remastered are Steam Deck Verified ahead of launch
Today, two major upcoming RPG releases have gotten Steam Deck Verified ahead of their release dates. Fantasian Neo Dimension was marked as Steam Deck Verified five hours ago while the rating for Tales of Graces f Remastered happened about 11 hours ago as per their SteamDB pages. You can view the ratings on the games' individual Steam pages here for Tales of Graces f Remastered and here for Fantasian Neo Dimension as well.
What this means is that both games will be playable without issues on Steam Deck out of the box with no configuration or changes needed from players. Usually we see games get Steam Deck Verified, which means Valve has tested them, closer to launch, though there are some outliers like Persona 3 Reload which got tested over a month prior.
If you're not familiar with Valve's Steam Deck Verification system, it has some flaws with how games like Baldur's Gate 3 struggle a lot with performance in the late game on Steam Deck despite being Steam Deck Verified, but it is a good sign for games like Fantasian Neo Dimension and Tales of Graces f Remastered confirming there will be no video playback or control issues.
For Fantasian Neo Dimension, this rating isn't a surprise given James played and wrote about how good it felt on Valve's handheld running at the system's native 16:10 aspect ratio and at 90fps. We also have a post from the official Steam Deck account for Japan showing it off on Steam Deck.
Tales of Graces f Remastered is a more interesting rating because while it was expected to play well on Steam Deck, this rating hopefully confirms it will be 90fps on Steam Deck OLED as well. The game's official Japanese website confirms that only the Steam version will support frame rates above 60fps with 120fps support included.
There will no doubt be more games from the January and February 2025 getting Steam Deck Verified in the near future with how much we have seen publishers support the handheld.
