Mongil: Star Dive is an action RPG that inherits Monster Taming, a game released in 2013 that marked the beginning of Netmarble’s journey in the mobile RPGs. Monster Taming was beloved by approximately 15 million users over a decade of service, and Mongil: Star Dive aims to carry forward Monster Taming’s diverse characters, unique universe, and core gameplay elements. The game is now under development to be playable across multiple platforms, including PC and consoles.
Monster Taming, an RPG That Received Nationwide Love, Returns with High-Quality Graphics
Mongil: Star Dive follows the lively journey of protagonists Verna and Cloud. Players can enjoy the unique narrative as they undertake various guild missions alongside Cloud and Verna, who each have a special destiny. Throughout these missions, players can explore the game’s distinctive universe and encounter charming Adventurers, adding to the thrill of the adventure.
Players can also experience cutscenes and battles rendered in stunning 3D graphics powered by Unreal Engine 5, which enhances a sense of immersion while playing.
At G-STAR 2024, Mongil: Star Dive will showcase a high-quality ‘Story Mode’ that allows players to dive into its rich universe. Participants in the demo can receive various game merchandise and a variety of prizes just through special G-STAR events.
Taming Monsters
Players can tame Monsters using the abilities of ‘Nyanners’, the game’s mascot character shrouded in mystery. Tamed Monsters will receive special powers, which can be used strategically in battles or crafted into ‘Monster-ring’ that players can equip on and customize their characters.
Story Mode Embodying the Journey of Verna and Cloud
At G-STAR 2024, the ‘Story Mode’ that offers a glimpse into the original universe of Mongil: Star Dive will be unveiled. The story begins with Cloud and Verna - the main protagonists of the previous title Monster Taming – embarking on a new adventure with the game’s mascot Nyanners. Players can enjoy high-quality cutscenes and experience the game’s narrative, which will feel as if players are watching an animated film.
In the G-STAR demo build, players will encounter a variety of unique characters, including the protagonists Verna, Cloud and Mina. These characters will undertake various missions assigned by the guild and work together with different ‘characters’ with their own backstory to investigate the ecosystem of Monsters that has altered for unknown reasons.
Verna is a character with high pride and a strong drive who takes a leading role in resolving the incidents she encounters throughout the story. Cloud, on the other hand, is a goofy character with an unmatched curiosity about Monsters and a pure-hearted personality, and he always manages to lighten the mood around him.
In addition to Verna, Cloud and Mina, players will also get to see fresh takes on popular characters from Monster Taming, such as Francis and Rin.
