Wizardry: The Five Ordeals Japanese physical Switch release delayed to February 27
Game*Spark's parent company Iid has announced that they are delaying Wizardry: The Five Ordeals' Japanese physical release for Nintendo Switch to February 27, 2025. The physical version was originally slated to appear simultaneously with the digital release. However, this announcement won't affect the digital version's release date, which is still scheduled for January 30.
The primary reason for the physical release's delay turned out to be an overwhelming amount of pre-orders made for both the regular and collector editions. The company ended up not being able to procure enough materials to produce items that would be included in each copy of the collector edition in time. This is also why the digital release is not affected, as the port itself is already done and primed for release.
As a reminder, Wizardry: The Five Ordeals is already available on PC via Steam, with full English language support added in August 2022. However, it is still unclear whether the newer Switch port will also include English language or not, as the publisher has still yet to put up a listing for the game on the Japanese Nintendo eShop as of this announcement.
