Dragon Quest X Start-Up Explained
On a special news post by Square Enix for this week and reported by andriasang, they have shown to players what the experience will be to start Dragon Quest X for the first time, including the equipment necessary and how creating your first set of characters in the online game will entail.
First off, the game will require a USB memory stick with a copy of the game. With the game in the tray of your Wii, the game will proceed to transfer the game data to the USB stick after booting the game. This will allow gamers to play the game straight from the stick by simply selecting the DQX Channel on the main Wii menu.
In Dragon Quest X, players will be expected to create three different characters early on. The first two, a human player and his or her sibling, will be restricted to the offline starting area, Etene Village. After a series of events involving the village and its people, the game will ask you o create yet another character that will be one of the five different non-human races featured in the game, as well as a job. This individual will be the one that will be put into the online feature of the game, with each having their own story and region of the world that they will begin their adventure in.
Other the main focus of the game is its online mode, players will have the choice of experiencing the large-scale world of Dragon Quest X by themselves if they so desire, with the focus being on the two human players you will start off with and the plight of Etene Village. However, to get the full experience of the game, it is encouraged that players with an internet connection should jump onto the online mode.
Square Enix has been good about sharing plenty of information of what this radical departure from previous Dragon Quest games is all about, and we expect further details in the days leading up to its official release in Japan on June
