Cladun X3 demo appears on Switch and PlayStation platforms in Japan with full release date on February 27
Nippon Ichi Software has published public demo versions of Cladun X3 in Japan. Those with a Japanese PlayStation Network or Nintendo Account can now find the demo on the game's page on the respective platforms.
This new game will appear as both the third mainline entry in the Cladun (Classic Dungeon) series and the 15th-anniversary title since the inaugural entry—Cladun: This is an RPG—came out on the PlayStation Portable in 2010. The series has been noted for its pixel character and weapon customization features with a high degree of freedom. If you have a Steam account, you can check out Cladun X2 and Cladun Returns: This is Sengoku! to get a feel for the overall series.
Cladun X3 will further amp up the pixel customization features. In addition to characters and weapons, you will also be able to produce your own music and sound effects with around 4 times the capacity of Cladun X2. You can also newly create your very own Town Map with customizable chip tiles. Furthermore, Nippon Ichi will add online features that let you upload, like, and download these creations. You can even create an original world by connecting up to 900 user-created maps.
The demo that's just published lets players check out the first few story dungeons with additional access to random dungeons generated by either a simple visit or using a magic map. It also includes parts of the customization and online features. The whole save data will also be transferrable to the upcoming full release, which is slated in Japan for February 27.
Nippon Ichi Software will release the full version of Cladun X3 in Japan for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 on February 27. As of this writing, NIS America has still yet to confirm an English localization or a PC release for this new game.
