Nintendo Switch versions of the Neptunia Re;Birth series and Death end re;Quest: Code Z have been canceled in North America and Europe

Idea Factory International has announced that Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1, Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2: Sisters Generation, and Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 3: V Generation will no longer be released for Nintendo Switch in North America or Europe. Additionally, the upcoming western release for Death end re;Quest Code Z will also no longer be released for Nintendo Switch in North America or Europe, although it will still be released for PlayStation platforms.

The three Neptunia ports for Nintendo Switch were originally announced for a western release in April 2024 before being indefinitely delayed a month later. As of the time of this writing, all three games are available for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in Japan, but not worldwide. In the west, all three games are available on PlayStation Vita and Steam, with the first game also having a PlayStation 5 version titled Neptunia reVerse.

Death end re;Quest Code Z released in Japan in September 2024 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. Idea Factory International previously announced that the western versions would launch on all three platforms in 2025. The upcoming western release will still launch for PlayStation platforms, but not Switch.

The statement from Idea Factory International can be found below, in full. Although we do not have hard details, the specific wording in the statement is worth noting. The Re;Birth series will not launch on Switch "due to the contents", while Death end re;Quest Code Z will not launch due to "not complying with the Nintendo Guidelines".

Idea Factory International was originally set to release the following Neptunia titles on the Nintendo eShop on May 21: Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1, Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2 Sisters Generation, and Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3 V Generation. It was also announced that Death end re;Quest: Code Z was set to launch physically and digitally for Nintendo Switch in 2025.

The 3 Neptunia titles and Death end re;Quest: Code Z for North America and Europe will no longer launch on the Nintendo Switch/Nintendo eShop due to the contents of the Re;Birth series and Death end re;Quest: Code Z not complying with the Nintendo Guidelines.

Please note that Death end re;Quest: Code Z will still launch physically and digitally for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in 2025.
