Recettear: An Item Shop’s Tale HD Edition announced

EasyGameStation has announced Recettear: An Item Shop’s Tale HD Edition, set to release in 2025. No other details about the release have been shared at this time.

The original Recettear released on Steam in 2010, localized by Carpe Fulgur, at the time becoming a landmark Japanese game available in English on a PC platform. We even reviewed the item shop simulation RPG here on RPG site nearly 15 year ago.

Carpe Fulgur founder Andrew Dice shared the news on Bluesky, stating that "more information will be revealed in the year to come." Other details about the HD Edition are sparse, such as if it will be a separate title entirely from the original, of if an upgrade path will be available on Steam.

Automaton has posted a comparison of the existing and newly-announced versions, which you can find below, alongside debut screenshots of the HD Edition in the gallery.
