Konami shares snippet of dialogue gameplay for Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars

Konami has shared a small clip of English gameplay for Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars, showing a section where Riou recruits Mondo in Rokkaku in Suikoden 2.

While a March 6 release date for the Suikoden remasters was announced in the August Nintendo Direct: Partner showcase, news has been sparse since. Konami did show about a minute of gameplay at Tokyo Game Show, and two opening movies have been published. The Suikoden Twitter account has also been counting down to release with a different character profile each day.

The new clip also gives us a glimpse at the updated English localization for the remaster. I went ahead and transcribed the dialogue for both the remaster and the original English PS1 version below, if you want to compare.

Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars is set to release on March 6 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam).

Remaster Dialogue

Hanzo: Do you truly expect me to believe you stumbled across a village as well-hidden as Rokkaku?

Kasumi: It has been a while, Lord Hanzo.

Sasuke: Oh, Kasumi!

Hanzo: Well, if it isn't Kasumi! Are you not supposed to be in the service of President Lepant?

Kasumi: I am, Lord Hanzo. But President Lepant ordered me to assist Commander Riou, leader of the Liberation Army.

Hanzo: Hmm... A wise decision, as I'd expect from President Lepant.

Kasumi: I agree. But the Highland Kingdom is a powerful enemy. Please. Could you lend us Rokkaku's assistance as well?

Hanzo: ...Kasumi, is this another of Lepant's orders?

Kasumi: No, sir... But I firmly believe that helping the Liberation Army will benefit Rokkaku as well. This is my judgment as Vice-Chief of Rokkaku. Please, Lord Hanzo.

Hanzo: Hmm... That glimmer in his eyes. It brings back memories. Mondo, Sasuke, I want you to go with Kasumi and join Commander Riou in his fight.

Mondo: It shall be as you ask. Hey, bet you're happy to be back with Kasumi again, eh, Sasuke?

Sasuke: H-hey, what's that supposed to mean? Don't talk nonsense!

Mondo: Haha, look at him blush.

Kasumi: Um... Did I do something to upset him?

Mondo: Don't you worry about it, Kasumi. It's fine. He's always like this. I'm sure he's around here somewhere.

Hanzo: Well then, I'm counting on you, Mondo.

Mondo: It shall be done, Chief. Would you prefer I join you now, Commander?

Riou: Please do.

Mondo: Thanks for having me.
