Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter reveals new spellcasting system in Magic & Monsters trailer
Publisher United Label and developer Odd Bug Studio have released a new trailer for Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter showcasing the game's new spellcasting system.
The Magic & Monsters trailer highlights the new combat option available in the sidescroller RPG sequel ahead of its launch. In addition to spellcasting revealed today, this sequel also brings in improved basebuilding when it arrives for consoles and PC.
Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter is set to release on January 28 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam, Epic).

United Label, CI Games’ home for highly ambitious, lovingly crafted videogames, has revealed an all-new spellcasting system in its latest trailer for Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter, ahead of the action-RPG’s launch on 28th January. The upcoming title follows new protagonist, Arlo, as he embarks on his own ‘tail’ of bloody vengeance against an ancient, deadly threat to the Ratdom, years after the conclusion of the original game.
Developed by UK indie outfit Odd Bug Studio, the sequel builds upon its critically acclaimed 2021 predecessor with a range of new gameplay mechanics and an enriched version of its trademark brutal combat. As well as new, giant beast-hunt sidequests and an expanded campaign, Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter includes the introduction of tactical traps and godlike ‘Elementa’ spellcasting, deepening moment-to-moment gameplay with increased combat options.

The ‘Elementa’ magics of the gods, coupled with the addition of traps, gives players that extra layer to consider, and more.”
Set for release on PC, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter will be available in digital Standard and Deluxe versions. In addition to the base game, those buying the Deluxe version will receive two DLC packs (which will also be available to purchase separately): The ‘Augur of the Draugr’ set that includes the legendary Draugr armour of old, and the ‘Hair to the Throne’ cosmetic pack, which features an exclusive collection of beards and hairstyles to strike fear into Arlo’s adversaries. The PC Deluxe version also includes the game’s digital artbook and official soundtrack.
