Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket's trade feature will arrive this January
Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket has been available for quite a while. But while the Trade feature has been teased at the Social Hub menu since launch, it is still greyed out with a "Coming soon" mark as of this writing. That is set to change soon, as The Pokemon Company and DeNA have announced that they will finally implement the feature this month in January 2025.
When the feature goes live, players will be able to trade cards with the same rarity grade from 1 diamond to 4 diamonds, as well as 1 star. However, players can only trade with other players they have registered as friends, and they must also consume some kind of item in order to perform the trade. The feature may have some more changes in the future, as the team has promised to listen to player feedback.
The Trade feature will not be the only new thing coming to Pokemon TCG Pocket this month. The team has also simultaneously confirmed that they will release new booster packs in the same month. It is yet to be known whether the booster packs will come in a single version like last month's Mythical Island or multiple versions like Genetic Apex at launch. The usage of a plural term with "booster packs" might lead us to believe that it's the latter, but we wouldn't know for sure until the upcoming actual reveal.
