Cladun X3 will have a more robust Magic Circle system with tons of crossover content

Cladun X3 is finally getting released for consoles in Japan next week, and Nippon Ichi Software has been amping up the game's details. The latest post on their official blog covers the series' staple Magic Circle feature with the new elements added in the new game.

The Magic Circle has been a recurring feature in the Cladun series, where players can place obtained Artifacts to strengthen the character. They can also place other characters they have created as side characters to further assist the main character. There will also be some new artifacts, such as Wide which will double any effect placed right after it, Twin which will mimic the next artifact placed with double power and half the Mana cost, and Zero which makes the next artifact actually cost 0 Mana.

Each job in the game will let the character memorize over 20 types of Magic Circles. The new types Nippon Ichi introduced on the post are Ranger's Mermaid which increases resistance to all attacks while the character is underwater, Swordmage which will automatically trigger Technique #4 right after using Technique/Magic #3, and Saint's Honor which lets them fly in every 3rd floor and thus ignore any landmines.

Speaking about the jobs, Nippon Ichi has also finished revealing all of the 10 jobs available in Cladun X3—although they are all pretty much the same as the ones in Cladun X2, which are Warrior, Wizard, Ranger, Merchant, Saint, Guardian, Swordmage, Ninja, Dragoon, and Shaman.

Nippon Ichi has also been gradually revealing bonus crossover content for Cladun X3 in a separate post. Some of them have also been available for download on the demo version that appeared on consoles in Japan since last December, such as Nippon Ichi's in-house titles including the Disgaea series and the store chain AmiAmi. However, Nippon Ichi is also preparing even more crossovers in the full release, with one of the highlights being Nihon Falcom with Estelle and Joshua Bright from Trails in the Sky, as well as Adol and Feena from Ys I.

Cladun X3 (which is short for Classic Dungeon X3) will be available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 in Japan on February 27. Neither Nippon Ichi nor NIS America has confirmed an English localization or PC release for the game as of yet.
