Maliki: Poison of the Past delayed to April 22; Steam Next Fest demo available
Publisher Ankama and developer Blue Banshee have announced that the release date for Maliki: Poison Of The Past has been pushed back to April 22. The JRPG-inspired title based on a French graphic novel was originally set to release on March 11 for Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam).
Despite the delay, a demo for the game is now available as part of Steam Next Fest, running from February 24 to March 3rd.
A new behind-the-scenes video is also available, where Blue Banshee CEO Etienne Jacquemain and game designer Clément Gastaldo discuss the game's style, gameplay, and inspirations. The video can be found below, alongside a description and screenshots, via Ankama.
Ankama and Blue Banshee are proud to announce their first participation in Steam Next Fest, from February 24th to March 3rd, 2025, with the availability of the demo of their upcoming video game Maliki: Poison of the Past on PC via Steam. Inspired by the Maliki comic book, the game is a single-player adventure RPG with turn-based combat and exploration phases. Players can add the game to their wishlist via the Steam page. Maliki: Poison of the Past will be released on Switch and PC via Steam and Ankama launcher, on April 22nd.

Maliki: Poison of the Past is the culmination of 20 years of existence of the Maliki novels and comic book, with its 8 volumes selling over 300,000 copies worldwide. The game is developed by the studio Blue Banshee, co-created by Souillon, the author and creator of Maliki.
Players are invited to join Maliki and her eccentric family in their epic battle against Poison, a formidable plant creature that has colonized space-time. They will embark on a fantastic odyssey through the ages, offering a unique blend of exploration, temporal puzzles, and turn-based combat full of surprises.
