Farland Saga I&II: Saturn Tribute releases for PC Steam, Switch, PS5, PS4, and Xbox One on June 26 in Japan

City Connection has revealed that they will release Farland Saga I&II: Saturn Tribute for PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in Japan on June 26. The digital releases on all aforementioned platforms will separate the titles, while the physical copies for Switch and PS5 will contain both titles simultaneously.

These new releases will bring back two classic Japanese strategy RPG titles: Farland Saga and its direct sequel which is better known in Japan as Farland Saga: Toki no Michishirube (The Guidepost of Time). Farland Saga also comprises the second sub-series of the larger Farland metaseries (it was preceded by Farland Story and succeeded by Farland Odyssey and Farland Symphony). The whole series was made by TGL, which is nowadays known as the visual novel publisher Entergram.

The first Farland Saga originally appeared for PC in 1996, and the sequel followed suit in 1997. Farland Saga II also had a PlayStation release in 1999. But as implied by the title, City Connection will base these ports on the Sega Saturn releases that TGL launched in 1998. That's why the Steam pages for both titles mention 1998 as the "original" release year.

The Japanese promotion trailer for Farland Saga I&II: Saturn Tribute is available to watch right below. The individual screenshot gallery and English game description (despite still being only available in Japanese) for each title are also available afterward.

◆What will the boy witness at the end of battle?

On the remote island of Entrich, far from the mainland, three nations have maintained a fragile balance: the military superpower Yohk, the agricultural kingdom Barth, and Thulk, an independent state led by demons.

Leon and Ralph, who lost their parents in a great war, were raised by the knight Brian and have since grown into skilled warriors.

One day, they attend a trilateral peace ceremony in Barth, only to find themselves caught up in a catastrophic incident that shatters the fragile relations between the three nations.

Branded as traitors, they flee alongside an innocent princess accused of a crime she did not commit.

Thus begins an escape that will ultimately decide the fate of the world.

◆Seamless Transitions from Fully Voiced Drama to Tactical Battles

Aside from movie cutscenes, the entire story unfolds on a quarter-view battlefield, ensuring a deeply immersive experience.

Through a combination of conversation windows and pixel art, the characters engage in serious yet sometimes comical dialogues, leading seamlessly into tactical battles.

Under your command, their journey will be chronicled in a tale that will one day be called legendary.
